Good News Everyone!
Tricity 1.4c2 is now available! So many tweaks and bug fixes happened since the last version, and I couldn't be happier with the current state of the game after only 5 weeks of development. Here are some of the biggest changes:
- Environment
- Terrain striation added
- Redesigned trees and foliage
- World size increased to 7000 parcels
- Added:
- Boulders - Non intractable or clear-able
- Game play
- Clearing forests leave stumps that decay naturally over time
- Water tiles no longer intractable (will be fixed in the future)
- Redesigned population mechanic
- Power demand/supply affects population growth
- Tiles now must be fully cleared before developing or placing any structure on them
- Increased housing spawn chance
- Reworked housing population capacities
- Interaction
- Movement speeds now increase the farther zoomed out you are
- Left Shift to move twice as fast
- Camera movements are now more natural
- Graphical
- Lighting has been greatly improved
- Draw distance increased
- Rendering optimizations
- Completely redesigned User Interface and in game quitting (opposed to force quitting)
- Roads re-texture
- Loading
- Game now loads all tiles at run time instead of before application initialization. (Same loading time but prettier!)
