Moving To 1.5
Happy Wednesday!
After 1.4c2 and its many bugs, I went back in and tweaked several things to improve upon , not all of which were in the game (finally posting instructions on the main page). 1.5 is a big update and I'm currently working on adding some planned aspects to the game such as:
- Geothermal Mechanics - All tiles have a value of how much "heat" they have and geothermal plants ta into that, but reduce it over time. It comes back, but really slowly.
- Coal Mechanics & Pollution - Coal can be burnt to create large amounts of power but at a high cost to the planet: Pollution. Pollution will now affect how forests and cities grow and how much money you will make from your people.
- Funds & Income - All things cost money right? Why should Tricity be any different. Building generators now costs money not only to build but every week after. People provided with power will happily pay you and this money can be spent on planting new trees, fighting pollution, or saved to make your pockets fatter.
- Efforts & Conservation - Parcels can be marked as conservation to prevent them from accidentally being developed over and money can be spent funding Efforts which can help combat the pollution on your world or reducing the consumption of power per person!
- Innovation - Innovations are collectibles found throughout your world. They are rare but incredibly valuable as they can be used to research new technologies to upgrade generators, increase efficiency and discover new machines to help propel your world and its people into the future.
- Full Generator Spectrum - There will be a power generator of arbitrary tier* for:
- Oil
- Coal
- Solar
- Wind
- Geothermal
- Fission
- Fusion
- Exotic/Theoretical
So yeah, it's a big update, BUT totally doable. I would like to get this out as soon as possible and have feedback while working on it knowing it will take me some time. My solution to this is to post the 1.5 pre-release which will be updated regularly until the full release of 1.5. I am also creating a new topic for Power Generators where you can suggest types of generators and i can discuss them with you and possibly add them into the game. This is where Tiers come in handy: different versions of the same type generator that offer advantages and disadvantages over their counterparts to create a more varied game play and give the player more options on how to manage their world!
So in closing, Im really looking forward to this big update and can't wait for all the feedback. Check the YouTube channel for some videos during the update and ill be sure to remain active on both here and the YouTubes.
